Description: In addition to being an organization that holds major collections related to the history of Pennsylvania for use by scholars, HSP makes major efforts to engage teachers, students, and the general public through numerous programs and activities offered throughout the year. Low-cost professional development sessions based on HSP collections for teachers, free student support for the archival research process, free field trips, outreach visits to schools, searchable lesson and unit plans, are all among HSP’s offerings to educators. In addition, HSP sponsors National History Day and supports teacher and student participation in this annual event.
