Description: Al-Bustan is dedicated to “intra and intercultural dialogue as a path to mutual respect.” It uses the arts presentations, programming, and experiences to teach Arab culture and language to Philadelphia youth and adults. This organization has a wide variety of community music and other types of partnerships, opportunities for in-school short term residencies for its teaching artists in elementary and secondary schools, as well as a summer camp for local youth. In addition, Al-Bustan has an online source of teaching materials including an Arabic alphabet and song tools.
