Description: GEM is a non-governmental agency that works with the Department of Public Information at the United Nations.  GEM’s activities are generally focused on some aspect of human rights, and include programs for middle-school and high-school aged youth during the school year and the summer months, as well as their teachers.  Activities are scheduled during the day at GEM’s site at Chestnut Hill College, the United Nations headquarters in New York City, and elsewhere. GEM’s website offers resources and curricula all related to many global topics, and also videoconferencing and distance learning opportunities.
