Description: The Japan-America Society of Greater Philadelphia provides numerous types of activities and opportunities relating to Japanese culture and history the history of the relationship between Philadelphia and Japan. JASGP offers individuals, families, teachers, and students the chance to attend the annual Cherry Blossom Festival, Japanese language classes, tea ceremonies at the Shofuso House and Garden, and trips to Kyoto, Japan to see World Heritage gardens and other sites.  An annual summer camp for youth aged 4-15 is also offered.  Online materials covering tea ceremony, origami, and Japanese holidays are provided through the society. There is a new mobile classroom focused on Japanese holidays, as well as a newsletter. Also, the city of Philadelphia has a sister city relationship with Kobe, Japan.
